From its storied past as a hub of Black-owned businesses, churches, and culture along Historic Goldsboro Avenue — one of Florida's most vibrant corridors of community pride — to its place as a city rewriting its own story with grace and grit, Sanford carries a heartbeat that speaks directly to everything Major Taylor stood for.

Major Taylor never made it past Savannah, Georgia in his lifetime — but his spirit had no such limits. This year, we are taking his legacy further south than he ever traveled, carrying his courage, his brilliance, and his revolutionary ride into a city bold enough to hold it.
